Pastels
I work almost exclusively in pastels, being attracted to their unique texture, glowing colour and the variety achievable, from a spontaneous sketch to a more detailed painting. My subjects include still life, which I use to express ideas and stories, figures and portraits.
In the mid eighties I studied pastel portraiture with portraitist/artist/tutor Daniel Greene in New York. I have exhibited widely, and have also been published nationally and internationally. I have received several awards, including the Allied Artists of America Award at the Pastel Society of America annual exhibition, New York City in 1993.
