I am continually inspired by space and form. Many of my works have bodies in varying forms of detail. In many, the forms are so submerged that only suggestions remain, damaged, aged and deconstructed. I apply thin layers of oils with the translucency of a water-colour side by side with assertive daubs of thick paint. I aim to draw a viewer in to the spaces I create using light, dark and form. I experiment endlessly with paint, pigment and mediums and often flout the rules, in order to create the controlled damage I seek.
