Margaret McLoughlin

Pattern and design plus vibrant colour often stimulate my desire to create paintings and mixed media drawings or linoprints. Oil and acrylic on canvas have been my long time practice, plus a passion for drawing in a variety of media.
The figure, the natural world, the urban landscape and now the rural landscape have been my ongoing theme.
My compositions strive to tell a story by using scale changes, exaggerated form or colour, and simplification of form.
My work also include Batik-style silk scarves and felted brooches.
