The beautiful Yarra Valley is my ongoing source of inspiration. Its weather, seasons and the subsequent skies, light, shadows, colours, changing mood and atmosphere being fundamental to my paintings. I prefer to paint in oils on site and recently, vineyards, other farming properties and the Warburton Trail have been great sources of artistic inspiration to me. When travelling throughout Australia and in Europe, watercolours are put to much use; ideas gathered, then re-worked in oils in the studio.
My pastel work involves direct observation and rapid recording of the movement, power and grace of individual dressage horses and riders.
