Nicola Stairmand

My work combines drawing and textiles and I’m interested in details and layers; the decayed and discarded.
I like to consider the things left behind; bones, feathers, nests and leaves. I draw on board, or on fabric, usually muslin or linen, which is then overworked with stitching and layering.
I like presenting the story behind the thing, or just the beauty of the thing itself.
