My Arts practice has moved away from direct carving to construction, assemblage and lamination of timber, incorporating an array of found objects and recycled materials. I am particularly fond of old furniture parts which often form the nucleus of my sculpture.
I generally commence with a loose image and allow unfolding to flow its own course and momentum. I am presently less inclined to wanting to wear the mantle of sculptor and its associated connotations to simply enjoying playing in the studio immersed in a timeless plane.
