Gold and Silversmith
The development of my discipline as a goldsmith is marked by four significant events; discovering jewellery as a child, graduating as a goldsmith from Monash University, opening Silvermist Studio in Healesville and being accepted as a Fellow into the Gold and Silversmiths Guild of Australia.
For me, jewellery has become an intimate form of sculpture where function is given equal or greater importance than form. By melting, hammering and bending precious metals around gemstones I handcraft beautiful treasures.
The jewellery is now a precious, valuable and durable symbol of significant events either in my life or in those I have created for. It will in time, become an antique and family heirloom.
